About the release:

Diamonds and Pearls are proud to present the first EP release from the forthcoming compilation ”Silverbird Casino“.
This two-tracker features exclusive and unreleased tracks by no others than minimal-genius Ricardo Villalobos and the fast rising star of house, mighty Henrik Schwarz.
Some ten years ago Henrik produced a track called ”Jimis“, an epic, distorted but funky techno masterpiece that owed as much to Jeff Mills as to Jimmy Hendrix. The track exploded on the dancefloors worldwide after being released on Berlin’s Diamonds and Pearls in 2002. After listening to the track again, Henrik decided it needs and new 2006 treatment. And what a treatment this is! Henrik sends the fifteen minute rollercoaster into a new and quirky, acidic techno dimension. The track unfolds its hypnotic power in an intense eight minute journey. Enjoy!
Speaking of hypnotic journeys, we come straight to Ricardo Villalobos. As we all well know, he is famous for his erratic mindblowing journeys of abstract minimalism. Here we have a continous flow of melodies, polyrhythms and effects defying the realms of linearity and structure. On this release, Ricardo again dived deep into his very own sound universe. Ricardo Villalobos shows himself in full force, stimulating your senses with his beautifulfloating sounds. We are impressed and excited. And we bet so will you….

GROOVE Magazine:
