Index Marcel Fengler – Various Artists – IMF10 part 1 – IMF10.1

IMF010_FrontIMF010_Back

A project 18 months in the making, Marcel Fengler presents a IMF10, an astonishing three part compilation series detailing the past, present and future of his label Index Marcel Fengler.
After a big period of change in the career of label head Marcel Fengler throughout 2016 that naturally involved IMF, it’s time to distill the label’s vision in sonic form. IMF10 is a collection of exclusive originals and remixes created by some of electronic music’s most skilled producers, alongside contributions from rising talents who are set to shape the direction of the label for years to come.
Split into three parts to be released throughout the first half of 2018, each volume consists of six tracks and encapsulates a different tone, highlighting not only the versatile sonic constellation of the label, but also the breadth Fengler enjoys exploring in his DJ sets.
Part one explores deeper and more hypnotic territory, as the legendary Alva Noto makes his debut for IMF re-working the Fengler classic ‘Sphinx’ into a spaced-out industrial beast. DIN, the collaborative project between Fengler and Efdemin reaps an atmosphere-heavy new production titled ‘Akustikkoppler’. Scuba also contributes courtesy of his SCB project, crafting a tripped-out interpretation of Somewhen’s ‘Dain’ from IMF05. Elsewhere close friends Matrixxman (in collaboration with rising producer Riccardo Limiti) and Lucy, also join the project crafting powerful and timeless originals. Always with an eye on the future, Fengler drafts in emerging Slovenian talent Blaukoma, who impresses with the pulsing, tension-packed ‘Iris Pattern’.
Stay tuned for Parts 2 & 3 to follow, which includes originals and remixes by Marcel Fengler, Luke Slater, Peter Van Hoesen, FJAAK and more.

cmd q continues with his 3rd EP for KANN. Delivering an all out, dance floor focused three tracker. Ranging from one serious dub techno banger over a jittery house version to a distinctively subtle techno cut. It is great to watch and listen to him amplify.

Naïf – Steve Bicknell / phillip sollmann / KUF / Autolyse – Naïf 08 – Naïf 08

naif8001

Naïf 008 opens a series of five ep´s that will be released around the release of the DJ-Mix-CD also named „naïf“ which has it´s release in April 2018
The first strike comes with two blinding Techno tracks: Running man is a contribution by the „Gentleman of Techno“ Steve Bicknell. The other comes from the young swedish Producer that goes by the name of KUF and who is part of the Arsenik Crew.
Besides that we find two compositions by Phillip Sollmann himself that show his abstract and experimental Approach.
While „Aliasing Bells“ is a texture of sampled tibetan bells „Tag3“ by his side-project „Autolyse“ is a jam on a light-sensor-controlled custom-made synth. Perfect for layering on top of a mix.
After more then three years of silence as a producer, Efdemin a.k.a Phillip Sollmann returns with a striking hybrid concept that merges the album format with the “continuous DJ mix” format, presenting completely new material in a seamless manner. The CD-mix, named Naïf, officially reinstates his label of the same name and is a sprawling tour of inner space featuring 19 distinct tracks from fellow producers along with an additional ten that feature Efdemin himself (either as soloist or collaborator). The release condenses his decade-long DJ-ing journey and evolution as a producer into a single potent elixir of contemporary techno.
Naïf consists of completely unreleased material from both himself and valued collaborators, all of which will eventually manifest as EP releases: five on his own Naïf label and two more on Curle.
