Big Bait Records – Monikca – Floating Herbert – bigbait025

bigbait025_Abigbait025_B

Monikca‘s new sound is excitingly fresh, clubby, emotional and allocated somewhere in the unknown, deep space between Wonky House and Deep House. This 12” is a proper tool for the moody and laid back 2017 summer-dancefloor.
Monikca lives in the beautiful Bavarian town Regensburg, loves Pancakes and isn‘t that much into clubbing. With her debut ep Münchner Jazz Bar back in 2015, she already set a glittering landmark. Now she‘s back with a surprisingly fresh 12” vinyl named Floating Herbert. The synthesizer (she calls him Herbert) supplanted the uplifting jazz samples from Münchner Jazz Bar. A slightly more mature mood took place of the lighthearted, uplifting sound we know from her.
This maxi is a soulful masterpiece for the joyful, in-between mood of an early summer outdoor sunset party. With this edition we continue our special limited edition series of 555 individually colored vinyls. Each record is a random-colored, totally unique piece. The colors range from black to white, from red, green, yellow and blue to all the mixed and mottled color variations in between.

No Suit Records – Peev – Inflict / Medea – NoSR007

NoSR007_FrontNoSR007

Medea tells its story within a deep but powerful ambient soundscape that will make you dive into dark hypnotic psychedelia. Don’t forget to wake up…
Inflict is a futuristic sub-bass heavy broken techno roller. Driving but refined, full of subtle variations and intricate sound design where IDM, Jungle and Electro unite.
Both tracks have been magnificently mastered by Pole at Scape Mastering in Berlin.
From 2008-12 Pierre Serafini ran Airflex Labs, one of the first French labels to release UK inspired bass music, and since 2012 he has been producing and djing under his more techno and electro inspired moniker PEEV. Throughout the varied steps of his career, his musicality and meticulous attention to detail have seen him forge multiple connections and alliances: notably through his work promoting his residency Haste at Lyon’s iconic Le Transbordeur. Haste lasted over half a decade and brought multiple international artists from the post-dubstep and UK continuum to Lyon, where they shared the stage with local artists, helping develop the environment that has seen Lyon blossom as a scene in recent years. Pierre has now been active as a DJ and producer for over 15 years, sharing stages with the likes of Autechre, Blawan, Mount Kimbie, Shackleton, Umwelt, Andy Stott, Plaid, Hodge, Lee Gamble, Pearson Sound, Objekt, Call Super, Joy O, Beneath, Leif, and many more.
In 2016, Serafini released the highly anticipated “Delia” EP, which was the first title on French stalwart Oxyd’s new label Intramuros. The fine blend of IDM, Industrial, Techno and Ambient music, refined over decades in his precise productions has made PEEV one of the most exciting contemporary artists in the renascent French scene.

Shaw Cuts – Farron – Legend Of The Bat – SC005

SC005_ASC005_B

Farron continues the course of Shaw Cuts with his ‘Legend Of The Bat‘ EP, following in the footsteps of Chu Liu Hsiang: the journey to Bat Island.
The voyage begins with ‘C.I.T.G’, its relentless break-beat fundament combined with coarse synth lunacy to wipe out the first dark shapes – moonlit slaughter.
Joining forces with rivals, Chu Liu Hsiang is no longer alone as he advances on Bat Island. ‘Semi-Final Thoughts’ accompanies the newly-formed crew to the mysterious ground – a melody of warm synth and light churned by industrious oldschool drums. But who to trust?
The fleeting harmony ends when several combatants unveil their guise and true motives. Loyalties revealed, massacre ensues. ‘Unlimited Mind‘ pulsates, its bassline and sharp percussions decapitating those who dare to deceive.
’Derby’ epitomizes the tension of the final showdown with low rolling tones, echoing chords and heavy percussion weaving the air like the rival in pursuit. With teamed forces and clever combat the traitor is annihilated from head to toe – bloodbath and game over…

True Rotary Recordings – Jor-El – Bushcraft EP – TRR 003

TRR03_ATRR03_B

Bushcraft; the knowledge of survival in the wilderness.
A young man leaves the safe harbour of his home town, only to find himself lost and lacking the soul.
He was always able to trust his ears, but are they really true to him.
Or is he merely not listening.
Distant echoes of bass and the melancholia that was always present seem far away.
With Bushcraft EP Jor-El finds himself in touch with the elements.
The elements of the hard hitting futuristic music that once took his heart and formed his life. Rumbling bass lines controlled by lazer sharp hi-hats driving forward. Eerie sounds coming in and drifting out again. Always driving forward.
The influence of his early years in drum & bass is there. Still this is pure techno music from an artist discovering new things in the universe within himself.
True Rotary Recordings is run by Joel Alter and Ena Cosovic out of Copenhagen.
Stemming from a mutual appreciation of the combination of raw techno and seductive sounds, the label is a natural development of their musical and personal partnership.
True Rotary Recordings represent their musical vision and the vibe that they love. Keeping it raw and genuine.
