About the release:

After 2 exceptional releases on the self operated Contentismissing label, with much critical acclaim on behalf of established mags and support by key DJs, Eve White now return with a strong 4 track EP on Ballad Inc.

Vermilion Sun is sure to be Eve White’s most outstanding work to date! The Contentismissing EPs were still offering a classical A-side/B-side structure, focusing on single tracks. All 4 Tracks on Vermilion Sun happen to be of a very dense and pure bred nature, and although each displays a distinct compositional shape, they do form a deep coherent whole!

Title track Vermilion Sun is a sublime deep house groover that combines soulfull melodic harmonies with bouncing battery that is sure to move body and mind alike. Well tempered strings that are reminiscent of Chicago’s Strictly Jaz Unit, refined acidlines and Motec’s ever present voice suggesting to “see the sun” add to the intriguing atmosphere.

Angels Whisper is a fine meditation on oldschool funk with a fresh approach, its relaxed percussion being brilliantly blended with insync chords and melodic, slightly freakish synth improvisations. Again, decent acid modulations and whispering voices generate an excellent balance between tranquility and excitment alike.

Empathy is sure to release mystical moods onto the floor, its deep rhodes shedding a warm and very relaxed atmosphere while battery and percussion keep the pressure alive and kickin’. A set started with this will instantly provoke empathy!

Serpentine leads into oldschoolish acidhouse territory, focusing on mentally correct modulations and well chosen redundant signals. Just like its sister tracks, it maintains a noble and cool tone of voice, crossbreeding traditional ingredients and an analogue feel with fresh contemporary sound design and a grown personal handwriting.

You can tell Eve White have come a long way, being able to work the Detroit/Chicago roots with a self confidence and determination, that is rarely found these days. If you are into true-to-the-core Deep House Music, these dope tracks will make you sigh with appreciation!
