There is a thrilling coexistence of various culture and music styles in the european-central city of berlin as well as in the asian city of tokyo. MERKUR is based in both cities. This schizophrenic situation gives us the privilege to exchange creative processes from one culture to another and allows us to develop an unorthodox blend of music that points into the future.
MERKUR was started by shingo suwa in 2008. He is a producer/DJ who moved from Tokyo to berlin in late 2005 to start his own label. Affected by berlins infectious techno scene he started his own label to release music which carries as well his asian roots as the new european influences.
